CREATIVE COLLISION 2019 was a huge success. Please view below the highlights of the day:
CREATIVE COLLISION 2019
Hong Kong’s society and economy are undeniably at a crossroads in 2019, demanding action through social innovation more than ever. Globally, as the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 deadline approaches, expectations for private sector leadership also continue to rise.
In this climate, how can the business community innovate faster and collaborate better with other stakeholders, to transition to inclusive, sustainable growth? As leading CEOs champion “stakeholder value” beyond shareholder profit, how do we truly align purpose and profit to create Shared Value?
SVIHK invites you to the first CREATIVE COLLISION on 27 November 2019 – our largest event yet, convening business, civil society, public sector and social innovation leaders in a highly interactive “non-conference” to accelerate Shared Value action. Rarely do these tri-sector worlds collide with the necessary (co-)creative energy to spark something bigger and empower participants.
Highlights:
- Top local CSV visionaries, practitioners and social innovation leaders
- 7 interactive sessions, 2 parallel tracks, incl. game, Shark Tank, simulation
- Each session tackles one of 8 Challenges of activating Shared Value:
💥 LEADERSHIP 💥 TALENT
💥 COLLABORATION 💥 FRAGMENTATION
💥 NEGOTIATION 💥 ADOPTION
💥 COMMUNICATION 💥 FINANCING

AGENDA

Morning Session
at Explorium, Lai Chi Kok
Challenge of Leadership
What does progressive business leadership in Hong Kong look like? How do we build a more inclusive society and sustainable economy with the next generations? Moving to CSV requires visionary, risk-taking leadership from the top – whether for one new product, or as an organisation longer term. Broadly, social innovation also demands fresh thinking and frame-breaking changemakers – especially youth.
- FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Martina Mok, Head of Programmes & Partnerships, SVIHK
- WISER: Stan Tang, Chairman, Stan Group
- BOLDER: Arnold Chan, Founder & CEO, Teach For Hong Kong
- CHAIR’S WELCOME (by video): Gordon Watson, CEO, AXA Asia & Chair, SVIHK
Challenge of Talent
It’s time to shake up the power dynamic. This time, the executive will interview the younger employee on their visions, experience, ambitions, expectations. How must business adapt and evolve to changing needs, constraints and opportunities – coming from shifting demographics, changing environment, morphing social fabric?
- Ravinder Chhabra, Managing Director – Financial Services Hong Kong Lead, Accenture
- Michelle Chan,
Break with refreshments
Challenge of Collaboration
One table; four leaders from business, NGO, government, social innovation. Everyone says we need to collaborate more between sectors, but do we even speak the same language and understand each other? Why haven’t current forms of “partnership” worked? What must we do differently to accelerate progress, break through sticking points, and redesign systems to truly serve end-users in society?
- Business: Peter Herbert,
- Social Innovation: Dr KK Tse,
- Moderated by Martina Mok, Head of Programmes & Partnerships, SVIHK
Challenge of Fragmentation
Hong Kong’s social enterprise community is rapidly growing and maturing, taking the lion share of “social innovation” while big business is just coming to the table as they see market opportunities. Everyone will hear 6 diverse “corporate-ready” impact venture founders tell you their stories in 2 minutes flat. Bid just one hour of your time if you want to learn more, partner, fund, mentor, refer, share.
- 6 impact venture / social enterprise founders to be revealed
