The Discovery Podcast
“We need to make sure the core business is addressing the societal issue because it is the only way we can address the issue at scale.”
Listen to the conversation between Virginia Wilson, our CEO, and Douglas Nelson, President and Managing Director of The Discovery Group, about what creating shared value means, how we implement it in Hong Kong and China, and why we believe creating shared value is imperative for business today.
Profit is not a dirty word. The reality is that for organisations to function and businesses to address societal issues at scale, there needs to be profit in some shape or form. The best way to achieve that is to align purpose with profit, which is what we called creating shared value. In this episode, our CEO Virginia shares with Douglas Nelson our position as a non-profit in Hong Kong and mainland China, how we are building a community of changemakers and leaders to understand the difference between CSR and CSV, to go beyond ESG to achieve shared value, and to bridge between different sectors to form a collective impact.
