So you aspire to create shared value, but how do you bring an idea to life? How do you rally an organisation with you? Come learn the inside scoop on two impactful business projects in Hong Kong. Our case presenters will take us through HOW to explore an opportunity around user needs, sell the business case, design a pilot, build partner networks and track impact.

TRACK A: Exec Labs (Challenge of Ideation) – We’ve asked a few local executives for their real business pain points, related to Sustainable Development Goals. Can you help them crack the problem? In diversely mixed participant teams, you will get to ask them questions, quickly ideate CSV solutions, then pitch for feedback to see what might be feasible next steps.

TRACK B: Meta-competencies – Develop meta-competencies to navigate constant change (Challenge of Leadership) – How can sustainable change leaders drive purpose and achieve their goals in an uncertain, ever-changing environment? Join us for an interactive session where participants will uncover the power of meta-competencies – the overarching soft skills that enable adaptability, engagement, and creativity, as well as improve the ability to act.
During this session, you will work in teams on mini-challenges to creatively approach SDG objectives, while leveraging a set of enabling skills and human factors. By the end of the session, participants will take home a deck of cues with handy tips, which will equip them for effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

TRACK C: DEI at a Glance
Join us for a session led by Community Business on the current challenges and trends on building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment. Learn about ways in which your organization can build future-focused approaches to DEI and learn about the ethical usage of current technologies such as AI. Through engaging activities and awareness building exercises, you will gain important insights on how to increase inclusivity and implement best practices within your organisation.

TRACK D: World Cafe – Nature as a stakeholder
What if nature had a seat at your board table alongside your stakeholders? Join our interactive World Café to gain a fresh perspective on your operations and explore practical ways of integrating sustainability into your daily decision-making. Guided by industry experts, participants will engage in roundtable conversations, rethinking the relationship between human activities and the natural world. Together, they will build actionable sustainable strategies and create a comprehensive to-do list to bring back to their respective organisations.

Ada is currently a Project Principal at Second Stage, a newly formed social venture building company which invests in financial and human capital in early stage companies with specific intention to make a positive impact to society and communities. She is also one of the Founding Directors of WYNG 43 Social Investment. Ada acted as CEO in one of its invested companies, Urban Spring, from 2015- 2022. She is a Certified ESG Analyst under EFFAs. Beyond her day job, her volunteer roles include being the co-chair of the board of Social Value International (a UK registered charity), one of a leading global network that pioneers in establishing impact measurement standards and trainings and a board member Social Value Hong Kong (formerly The Hong Kong Institute of Social Impact Analysts), as well as a member of the Advisory Committee on Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities under the Social Welfare Department of the Hong Kong Government. Prior to the above engagements, she was the Programme Director of the i2i (incubation to investment) program at SOW Asia. In her early career, Ada worked at a number of international financial institutions in Toronto, Tokyo, and Hong Kong with regional management responsibilities for over 15 years.

As a product designer with a background in psychology and computer science, Alan helps businesses grow by using user research driven design methodologies to create impactful, humanistic digital experiences for their existing and potential customers.
With a BBA in International Business, Charlotte started her career at DFS (LVMH), before transitioning to hospitality. She holds a diploma in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge, is a certified Climate Fresk & Human Factor Mural facilitator, and Managing Director of both Banyan Workspace and the Green Office Project. Charlotte's unique blend of corporate experience, environmental advocacy and strong interpersonal skills forms the bedrock of her engaging sustainability workshops, and her perceptive insights and actionable strategies are invaluable to companies looking to advance their ESG targets and team engagement.

Chris has over 20 years of experience working on large-scale business events. Originally from the UK, Chris has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 2015. He conceived, designed, and launched the ReThink HK event during the first part of 2019. Undeterred by the challenges faced by live events at that time, the new event concept aimed to unite the full business and sustainability ecosystem, championing positive action and shared responsibility. The event has received excellent support, and its 5th edition is scheduled for September at the HKCEC. It is recognized as the city's best-attended business event for sustainable development.

Clement started his career in the Marketing and Events Management field, leveraging his experience and bringing it into the Business Development and Client Relations field. He understands the customer's needs and is currently focusing on Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement. Clement is passionate about connecting the dots, exploring collaboration, and influencing behavior change.

After graduating from LSE, Cynthia spent the first 10 years of her career in the insurance industry across various Strategy roles. However, with an urge to be ‘closer to the ground’, she began her entrepreneurial journey in 2021 with a coffee and laundry shop that focused on ‘sustainability in the small things’. Fast forward to 2023, through experimentation, the Clean brand has now pivoted into something much wider: utilising design and technology to create a more inclusive workplace. Cynthia aims to create sustainable social impact by empowering Special Educational Needs (SEN) talents and businesses with innovative solutions to mutually excel.

Being a Gen-Y and a father of two children, Garrick is aspired to bring happiness and fulfilment to the future generations. He believes it is fundamental for every individual and every business to do good and create shared values for the community. His experience covers social innovation, sustainability, change management and intrapreneurship, hospitality and real estate asset management, and youth development. He currently works with a private conglomerate to integrate sustainability across various aspects of operations, target to demonstrate and advocate for the Creating Shared Value (CSV) model to all businesses.

Grace is the founder and CEO of Agewhale. Inspired by her experience caring for her grandparents, she founded Agewhale to help families navigate elder care. Agewhale helps develop care plans and identify support services to enable aging well in place. Her vision is for Agewhale to become the leading social innovator in family caregiver support and make caregiving a positive experience for all. She spoke at the TEDxTinHauWomen 2023 event on the importance of caregiver preparation. Before founding Agewhale, Grace was the General Manager of the Fair Employment Agency to reinvent migrant domestic worker recruitment industry standards.

Íñigo founded one of the first crowd-funding companies in Spain. After that, he moved into supporting business at different stages to optimize their resources and grow, through strategic changes to their operations and business models. Íñigo has been working with Humans Matters for the last three years.

Jason is a Design Leader with passion for HCD and innovation. He has over 20 years of technology experience and 12 years in Design - holding roles in-house and consultancy across multiple industries in UK and Asia. Joost is a Dutch citizen who is based in Hong Kong for over 13 years. Most of his career he was a banker, but in 2021 he decided to try and contribute to a better environment and become a green entrepreneur. Together with an international team his company - Shrett Limited - developed the world’s first plastic shredder that can be used in households and businesses (offices, F&B, airports, event venues etc.). Shrett is currently used by several hotels in Hong Kong and abroad, as well as recyclers in Europe.
Joyce is now the Managing Consultant at Humans Matter, a purpose-driven company that leverages deep expertise in cognitive and behavioural sciences to support people empowerment and engagement, sustainability transition and change management.

Karen knows how instrumental a people-centric approach is to winning trust and working effectively with clients in all functions at companies of all sizes and across all industries.
Growing up in Hong Kong, living a year in Germany, Karen has a proven track record in client relationships management, partnership and community development, and event organisation. Before joining SVIHK, Karen worked in the German Chamber of Commerce as a bridge between the German and Hong Kong businesses. Leading some German corporate delegations in the energy industry, she discovered how business can play a role and positively impact the environment and society. She now puts all her energy into rallying companies, government and society’s partners through purpose-driven partnerships.
A sports enthusiast, Karen knows persistence and patience are essential for impactful change.
Karen is an award winning broadcast journalist, professional MC and media and presentation skills coach with over 30 years of experience in telling global stories. She has worked for international TV news broadcasters in London, Singapore and Hong Kong, produced and hosted live and recorded radio shows and coached TedX speakers. She also serves on the board of the Foreign Correspondents' Club HK and EngenderHealth, a US-based NGO which focuses on women and girls' sexual and reproductive health around the globe. For fun, she loves surfing, roller skating, drumming, cooking, reading and time with friends and family.

Kate leads Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at EY for Asia Pacific Financial Services. She joined EY in November last year after spending 8 years at HSBC, where she worked in various risk and compliance roles. At HSBC, she also founded and ran their first mental health employee resource group in Asia Pacific. During the pandemic, Kate shifted her focus to organizational culture and wellbeing. She retrained in mental and physical health and pivoted to a career in DE&I following the birth of her first child. In addition to her role at EY, Kate managed one of Hong Kong's largest netball clubs, served on the board of a premiership rugby club, and is an advocate for mental and physical health.
Kevin is a committed sustainability practitioner specialising in climate resilience and resource management for Hang Lung Properties' Hong Kong portfolio. With a background as a Chartered MEP Engineer and 14 years of project management experience, he brings extensive expertise to his role. Additionally, Kevin possesses 8 years of property management experience and is an expert in EDGE certification. He currently oversees the collaboration with Sustainable Office Solutions (SOS) for the recycling of over 4,000 pieces of office furniture as part of the Hong Kong office rejuvenation project since 2022. Kevin is dedicated to driving sustainable practices and promoting environmental stewardship.

Len is the Client Solutions Manager at Community Business. She is responsible for client solutions design and relationship management. Prior to Community Business, Len has worked as a recruiter specializing in technology roles as well as a partnership consultant at a software company. She has APAC business exposure focusing on Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Her core competencies are business development and account management. She also has extensive volunteering experience as a role model at Inspiring Girls. Len is Vietnamese-Pakistani and grew up in Shanghai and Hong Kong. She is a native Vietnamese speaker, fluent in English and speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Len uses She/Hers pronouns.

Melanie is the Sustainable Solutions Strategist at SOS, her mission is to drive partnerships to expand SOS’s impact as a circular economy solution. She has a background in architecture, her previous roles include sustainability consulting, focusing on the delivery of supply chain projects addressing human rights and environmental risks. She has worked with clients across industries including financial services, property development, manufacturing, F&B and waste management. Outside of work, she strives to align her lifestyle with her passion for the environment, leading a zero-waste life, composting her own food waste and diving with a coral reef conservation group in HK.

Nicole is the Strategy and Innovation Manager for AXA HK and Macau General Insurance. Driven by her passion and belief in the transformative power of sustainability to create a resilient future, she is currently spearheading on sustainability-related initiatives, focuses especially on climate-related risks, to shape for an integration of sustainability principles into underwriting framework, product offerings and operation management. With the insurance industry’s pursuit of positive change, she is highly involved for the development of innovative insurance solutions to address emerging climate and nature-related risks, to demonstrate the competency and potential of the industry to facilitate the transition journey and contribute to the greater good.

Oliver, a chemist with a keen interest in mitigating climate change and environmental pollution, is directing his research towards converting renewable feedstock and waste materials into chemicals and fuels. Additionally, he is also interested in design of nanomaterials for purposes such as sensing, solid-state emission, and the degradation of persistent organic pollutants in wastewater.

Pirry has a deep-rooted passion for sustainability, holding a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University and studies in Environmental Engineering at BCIT. With over a decade of expertise in environmental management and green technologies, Pirry is a serial entrepreneur in waste upcycling and circular economy. His C2C and C2B businesses, such as Furry Green Pet Food and O2 Soya Pulp Cat Litter, transform local food waste into eco-friendly pet products. His proficiency also extends to managing organic waste recycling production lines, underscoring his commitment to environmental stewardship.

Paying attention to the sustainable development of the global trend, Sylvine co-founded BSF Innovation to focus on promoting upcycling products and implementing ClimateTech solutions to the industries. She is the UK Energy Institute Certified Carbon Auditor and the fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Sylvine has 10 years of project management experience for commercial hospitals, universities, and NGOs.

Thomas is a Senior Consultant who specialises in guiding organisations and teams towards agile transformation. He is skilled in coaching, facilitating workshops, and implementing practices to drive collaboration, efficiency, and project success. Thomas is passionate about empowering individuals to adapt to change and deliver exceptional results. He becomes highly energized when helping product development teams improve their work processes and is keen to implement and experiment with the latest Agile practices.
Veronica is the Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for Nestlé Hong Kong, overseeing the company's public affairs, corporate communications, media relations, as well as Creating Shared Values (CSV) for all business units. She is also the lead in working closely with different local teams to achieve various Sustainability goals. She joined the group in 2010. Prior to this, she has worked at a global communications consultancy, pharmaceutical industry association, media outlet and university, which granted her extensive experiences in driving policy change, stakeholders’ outreach, corporate social responsibilities, as well as built relationships with professionals of various disciplines. Veronica received a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Philosophy and two LLB degrees. She is currently the Committee Members of the Hong Kong Suppliers Association and Hong Kong Health Food Association.

Passionate about impact and innovation, Virginie brings her strategic and operational expertise to Shared Value Initiative. Originally from France, she has lived in Germany, Eastern Europe, Canada, and Hong Kong, where she started sailing and open-water swimming.
Yee Lin is responsible for consulting and training design and delivery, as well as client relationship management. Well equipped with over 30 years of work and life experience, Yee Lin seeks to coach and motivate the next generation of thought leaders by enriching their personal growth and heightening their professional value. She is a ICF PCC certified coach with many years of executive leadership experience. Prior to joining Community Business as a consultant in C&T, she was based in Shanghai for 10 years and worked in a creative agency in branding strategy and project management with global brands. Actively involved with ICF Singapore’s Community of Practice for Team Coaching and Outreach & Coaching for Community, she holds a Mentor role with Asia Institute of Mentoring, Singapore Halogen Foundation’s Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and Hong Kong Kids4Kids' Action For A Cause. This is her vision of paying it forward to build a highway of hope for future generations. Yee Lin holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Political Science, National University of Singapore. She is also a certified CSM, CAL-E, CAL-T and CAL-O with Scrum Alliance. She is native in English and fluent in spoken Mandarin and Cantonese.
